It’s almost time for the Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance – 5k Run walk, and we are a tribe on a Quest! A quest for what, you may ask. We’re on a quest to find community, be healthy, create scholarships, and discover new things.
If you’re ready for the quest, now it’s time to find your tribe. You can choose to have a tribe of one or a tribe of many. Spend some time with yourself, or get your friends, family, or frat/sorors and choose a race location. In the last two weeks, we’ve toured you through Cascade Springs Nature Reserve and Cochran Shoals Trail, and there are so many more options for you on race day.
For other trails and parks, check out the curated list below.

Items to carry on your 5k Run Walk:
- Inspect Repellant
- Water
- Tissue
- Chair
- Blanket
- Snacks
General Considerations:
- Remember, leaves of three, let them be. The leaves of many poisonous plants, like poison oak and poison ivy, grow in groups of three.
- Always stay on the trail. This not only protects the trail but protects you.
- Practice basic Leave No Trace principles and take all of your trash with you. It’s even a great idea to pick up any trash you find along the way.
Special thanks to Legacy History Pride, for providing the dope HBCU apparel featured in all photos and videos and to David Yates Digital for videoing the content.
